Presenting the test run meme for characters that want to get into SRWU. How does it actually work?

-Following is a list of prompts that your character can respond to. The prompts are described to some extent but there is intentional vagueness so you can fill in the details yourself. Make sure to describe those details in your response. Make sure to also include the number of the prompt you're responding to!

-After you post your response (a top-level entry), other players can respond to it with their own characters. This creates a thread where the two of you continue to interact with each other.

-There can be more than one response per a top-level entry, thus creating several independent threads that originate from one tag. Please don't interject into other peoples' threads that are already running without making sure they're fine with it first!

-There is no need to register or join any communities in order to respond to this meme. Just pick a character you want to use and post away.

-Participation is not obligatory for characters that want to get into SRWU. Participating can be helpful though because threads your character participates in can count for the app's "sample post" requirement.

You just joined Unity Group and received accomodation at one of its bases. The question is, what will you do next? Look around for your room? Go to the hangar to make sure your mecha is alright? Say hello to other pilots who are already around? Greet everyone more officially through a disciplined military-like broadcast? Or perhaps something else altogether?

Using the Time-Space Extension Nexus... or teleporters, as many people unofficially but not inaccurately call it. You enter the Nexus room, there is a slight tingling sensation and just a second later, you leave at a different location - in another of Unity Group's base! Was it the first time for you to use this unusual, marvelous technology? Or are you already used to it?

Victory! Something good just happened, for you or for the group as a whole. A difficult mission was successful, a troublesome enemy defeated, perhaps the victory was political in nature, or maybe you received an upgrade for your machine. Either way, it's something to feel good about - so describe what it was and how you celebrate.

Bad times are upon us. A new powerful enemy emerged from somewhere, we faced a huge defeat, an ally has perished, or maybe it is something more personal in nature. Whatever it is (describe it as above), it can't be good... how do you cope with it?

It's time to fight! A battle is raging around you, and it is time to focus if you wish to win, no - if you want to live! But who are the enemies, what unit are you using, what is the current situation, and most importantly: what are you doing at this very moment?!

And that's Mom, and then Dad... and then the mechanic teams...

[It'd taken a little bit of time for Mizuki to finish getting everything unpacked... some of the highlights including draping her bed with a blanket adorned with rabbits, strawberries, and farmers. But there were also a number of framed pictures she had set up on her work desk, two of them appearing more frequently, and often with a younger Mizuki at various ages.]

... And there. We've made it, everyone. I'm going to do you all proud.

Yeesh, just when you think you've seen everything, someone comes up with something new.

((Tiffa has been captured for the first time. The Gundam Ashtaron punched a hole in one of our ships and snatched up Tiffa in it's claw (gently of course). Not only was Garrod unable to prevent it, but he couldn't keep up pursuit either.

The girl he loves has been kidnapped and he doesn't know where she's been taken, and worse, by someone whom he thought was an ally for a few days.

How does Garrod deal? He doesn't know how! He's totally dumbstruck, but at the same time furious at both this other guy and himself for being unable to keep Tiffa from being snatched up! So furious he's storming to the hangar, again to make a blind search... some time after spending minutes on end staring off into space as he replays it all in his head.

[Don't be too dumbstruck, because Izuru is trying to reach out to you!]

Russel knew there were new recruits to greet, the unit was much like his old. So he was expecting they'd get as Katina might put quite the mixed bag of people. He honestly expected at least one of his new comrades had got their robot from an older relative. Okay that might be a bit silly he thought.

"Still got a few people left to meet, hum now where might they be?"

Russel wondered aloud as he continued down the hall heading for the Rec-room hopefully that's where the new pilots had been gathering.

A few pilots had gathered there but some of them... a particular one, seemed entirely too young to probably be there, and yet, there was a 15 year old girl just hanging out as if that's where she belonged, staring off at the TV which was under her control; and be damned if it wasn't Saturday morning.

"Oh look... 'nother new guy." she says, looking him over a moment before going back to the TV.

Her room was bigger than she expected, even accounting for the double bunk. Not as large as the ones in the Resistance base - but this was a starship.

A starship. Meredith ran her hand across the smooth metal of the bulkhead, gazed out the porthole at the San Francisco bay. The poor, kaiju-blood polluted and Dream-poisoned bay, and it's starving population of lost children.

She'd have to do something about that, wouldn't she?

But until then, nothing for it but unpacking, taking the top bunk, and opening one of the two books she brought with her from base. This one was The Gunslinger.

Who is her roommate, anyway?

Meredith usually takes a work shift in the kitchens, but she usually doesn't cook with such violence. She's being particularly savage with that cut of beef.

She should have seen it. She should have smelled the ambush, she had known that there were quisling gangs, that the children were a honey-pot, and they tried to save them anyway. It nearly cost them Archer.

Archer Lin, the littlest Resistance member, 2.25 years old. It was only luck and her bruised knuckles that saved her - she shouldn't be holding a knife right now.

Perhaps she can be forgiven for whirling to the interloper, knife in hand, and saying: "What."

"...dapples and bays, all the pretty little hor~ses..." Meredith flicks her eyes to Joshua's brainwave patterns. Delta waves spiking, alpha and beta acceptable.

Joshua was in rapid eye movement.

"Joshua? Dive. Dive."

The effect on his psychic state was immediate and profound. Meredith took a deep breath. "I am your armor, trust strong as titanium steel. Don that armor again."

"Draw your sidearm from the Colonel, draw your shield from Derek, unfurl the wings drawn from Sara. Now." She checked the radar. "Now behold a field of stars, interspersed with floating rocks from the nearby planet. Jet from rock to rock, limit your time exposed in space. Choose your moment and fire."

There were no asteroids in that section of space... but now they were in that part of the dream contiguous with the planet's orbit. And they, somehow, blocked the Nightmare's fire.

[A short girl with white hair and an unusual outfit enters the room. She doesn't notice your presence at first... but then she does.]

She had to admit she wasn't sure what to think about her room. From the standards she'd lived under for most of her life? The basic accommodations were very posh for lack of a better term. She flopped on the bed too, while some would find it to hard? Raquel was quite please. She didn't think she'd being this up later when she went home for a visit.

No that would not be a good idea, she set her duffel bag of personal effects on the bed. Then adjusted her somewhat odd outfit and went for the door heading out to see who else might be about as she ventured forth into the halls.

Mr Randy? Where are you, Mr Ra... oh.

[There's a high schooler walking outside the room, holding a data disc in his hands. Seeing you, he stops, a bit awkward but curious.]

Hello. Are you a new person?

Raquel had not had access to the teleporters before ans she just came out of one. she was dazed really. She staggered just a bit until she came to lean against till the vertigo passed. She was not liking this whole feeling at all. She felt like they somehow let a part out for lack of a better term and for once was not paying much attention to her surroundings.

[Dizzy she may be, sooner or later Raquel'll be able to see a blonde girl a few years older than her offering her a hand to help keep her steady.]

[Victory was all well and good, but for some people it wasn't enough. They would prefer it if some pilots didn't bring back their machines as utter scrap heaps that could barely even be classified as serviceable anymore.]

[Enter Leos who was now ducked into the lounge you were hanging around in, diving behind a couch with a painful crash before peeking out from behind it, giving you a rather frantic and overdone 'Shhhhh!' before ducking back down in a panic as his handler Lana peeked into the room with a stern expression before continuing on.]

["Taiga" was reading some magazine on said couch, so when Leos dives behind it in the cartoonish fashion, the sound makes him looks up just in time to spot Lana in his confusion, and when she walks off he peeks behind the back.]

[And in your panicked retreat you nearly ran Anastasia over, causing the girl to stumble to the side with confused noises coming from her mouth. Lana's almost comical peek just made this seem even weirder.]

... What... exactly happened?

[Well whatever foes you are facing, there happens to be a juggernaut completely plowing through whatever was being thrown at it. Scores of scorches, pockmarks and dents are scattered across its armor... but everything is met with...]

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA!!!

[Laughter. Not insane laughter. But boisterous, hot blooded and eager laughter as it keeps pushing the front forward.]

I count that I am at least three in favor ahead of you ally! You should not slow down unless you wish to have your Ancestors feel mild embarrassment that your blood was not burning for the hunt this day!

I don't actually have blood... or Ancestors either. I did have programmers but I'm sure they think I'm doing a perfectly respectable job.

[Also, bravo. You're blitzing everyone and Elma's just hanging back, sniping people with the Gesterben's Blade Railgun. Without Selena here there's only so much he can do.]

And I don't think this counts as hunting.

[It's a useful way to travel but it does make Taiga stumble a bit once he steps out, although he suddenly stands straight again if anyone bothers noticing his problems.]

H-ha that was nothing.
I thought it would be something weird, but it was fine. Not a bad teleporter if I do say so myself!

[Once he moves to get away from the attention though, he does sort of lean against the wall and groan to himself.]

What the hell kind of system is that! I should just teleport myself around. Ugh that's too disorienting...
