So, Prof and Eric are over, and Prof was curious what the ratio of mecha to non-specifically mecha canons and characters. So I figured it out.



As a note, I did not include original characters in this, nor characters who have been dropped (I believe all of the dropped canon characters have actually been mecha, though), or Ryo.

# Mecha Canons: 31 (76%)
# Tokusatsu* Canons: 5 (12%)
# Magical Girl** Canons: 3 (7%)
# Other*** Canons: 2 (5%)

# Characters Total: 78
# Mecha Characters: 56 (72%)
# Tokusatsu Characters: 8 (10%)
# Magical Girl Characters: 12 (15%)
# Other Characters: 2 (3%)

If we add in OCs to the mix, the numbers change as follows:

Notes:
* Tokusatsu includes Power Rangers
** Magical Girls consists of Nanoha, Otome, and Strike Witches
*** Others is Megaman and Metroid, since neither really fit in other categories
**** For OCs, I've based categories on my best understanding of the characters and their apps. Still Not Safe I've put under Tokusatsu (for the Power Armor), Del Segno al Coda I put under Other (since she doesn't have a machine and is non-combat), and ______ Revolution: Abraxas I put under Other as well. Everything else was put under Mecha. If I got it wrong, let me know and I'll fix it.
