What changes about your characters and their settings and how do they now take battle to their enemies?

edit: Oh, we're doing more detail than that... she's a standard quiet commoner girl of the sort you might find serving in a tavern at low levels. She has an artifact like Devon's, but hers turns her in to a shining knight with buff/debuff/healing magic. Since their adventuring band were mostly killed, she's taken up study with Lowe.

Lowe is your typical Main Character Swordsman archetype, only he makes/ugprades his own weapons. Like if it was an MMO, or maybe Star Ocean.

Devon is a hand-to-hand brawler, who can also activate a more "demonic" form due to an artifact that brings out her unique hidden power.

Alessandra... no change at all.

Lan is still not in the game, but surprisingly little changes here too. She's still a princess of some kind of ancient humans, just not space ones... elves?

Please don't make Lan be an elf.

Also her Vox is now a mythical yuri friendship-powered artifact.

I wouldn't really call Simoun yuri. There was very little romance with the biggest being...Morinas, I believe, and that mechanic guy. Maybe Paraietta's crush on Neviril if you count that, but I never got a grasp of anything that went on in the heads of the characters in the show so I'm not sure. Even if it was a real crush, it was one that never really went anywhere, so I still wouldn't count it.

And, no, completely sterile, emotionless kisses to power the things they fly, I've forgotten the name, doesn't count either. It was about as dispassionate as turning a car key.

Terrible yuri does not stop being yuri for being terrible. It just stops being worth the time it takes to watch :P.

And to me the name just calls to mind desert wind. The spanish spelling of simoom is basically identical to that series's name - just remove the o. Of course, a show filled with dry and sterile fake romance reminding of a desert *does* have a certain appropiateness.

It's more that there's barely any romantic feelings at all between the girls. I'm willing to accept that if there was, then it'd be yuri regardless of of quality. I just don't think there really is much. And those kisses aren't sterile, fake romance, they're there because the pilots need to kiss to power a simoun, they still kiss even when they switch pilots due to injuries and the like. There's even a minor plot point about explaining to one of the characters that kisses are also used for romance at some point.

But, really, my problems with the show aren't about it not being yuri. I have problems with it and also think that it isn't yuri.

I guess Michelle is a city guard who got dragged into the adventure somehow. Just one with an unusual weapon choice in using an axe rather than a sword or spear.

Irgelions are a nation of humans from across the sea. Julia's big on exploring the oceans.

Josh's father is a wizard dabbling in affairs he doesn't understand. Josh is still a mercenary.

Gregory is either a normal soldier or he's been replaced by a changeling. No idea which as usual.

Kei is a somewhat berserker-y member of a troupe of berserkers fighting against a bunch of shadow monsters.

Stuff with the Festum is still pretty much the same, except Fafners are cursed suits of armor. And the Lindwurms are actual dragons.

Very little changes about Jeremy. Still a ham, still in love with history, still often disregarding shirts.

Timaeus III and his storyline would be basically exactly the same. The only difference is that everything the Deucalion can do, he would do instead.

Nadia not so sure. She's a Gundam protag, so probably sword-and-board knight/paladi, but I have no idea how her storyline would translate into a setting without space exploration.

Seiren would turn back into to Ellen Kurokawa from Suite PreCure.

Fate = No changes.

Tatsu would be a real dragon! Just a wyrmling though. And Tatsu's enemies would be flesh and blood monsters.

Sayla is a knight with some minor magical powers. Possibly a paladin.

Haruka is a girl with some fondness for a dragon. A full-sized Chromatic dragon. She gets her own abilities later on, probably of the warrior with a hammer and bucketloads of HP sort. のワの is not the face of a wizard.

Charl is a sort of...all weapons master. Special Ops City Guard, if such a thing exists.

Yui would be a Demonologist. Hellfire, baby!

Roads is an Artificer. He fights vampires.

Like the other Desus, Sora turns back into Itsuki Myoudouin from Heartcatch Precure, except with rather a lot more emotional baggage.

Chrono... is already from a society beyond the stars. Call it a special campaign setting. No changes.

Van would ironically be the best character here; he's got a Medium-size lizard animal companion, and the two of them can shift into a liger. Top-tier.

Jukai (when she's in) will... uh... summon monsters with the light of her soul or something?

Mashiro... is unchanged. Bratty ruler of a kingdom somewhere. Her subjects hate her because she spends all the taxes on this "candy" that none of them have ever heard of, and improvements to her keep.

Werter is an alchemist wizard. Prometheus is his familiar.

Instead of a space pirate, Tobia is now a normal pirate. Maybe an airship pirate? Skies of Arcadia ahoy! He uses a giant sword later.

Lily is an animated doll/golem. She has the same abilities like before, but they're magic now.

Samus is probably someone who got adopted by angels of some kind after her parents were horribly murdered by a dragon and his lizardman minions, and infused with their blodd making her a strange half-celestial of some sort. Her armor would, then, look rather more paladin-y and she'd probably be a melee fighter.

Nor a lot more would change. Samus is rather close to a knight errant already, really.

Resnick changes very little. Clans are already mongol-samurai-cossack expies. They just birth superior warriors through magic instead of eugenics now.

Oenone is a necromancer, fighting nomadic conquerors who have cities pulled by Baluchithereums.

Ren would be an actual knight, only still partnered with horrific monsters. He comes from a loose alliance of knights who mostly gave up on their quest and retired quietly. Limited magic, but it's wind-based.

Scott was granted powers by the great wizard K (yes, you're in this story too) who turned out to be a teenage girl, but she can still hurt them with her magic violin, so they shut up about that. Not entirely sure if he races horses or broomsticks. Magic is all speed-based, and they run out of MP fast.

AAAAnd dropping off my own examples in my own meme.

Cheng would be an ill fated soldier from an eastern kingdom - still the son of a general of reknown and still losing everyone he cared about in a tremendous coup. He uses a repeating crossbow as his weapon.

Michael would pretty much be a ruler over a grand country known as 'The Land of the Free'. You all know what happens next when his Right Hand Sir Richard of Hawke turns on him.

Vlaska would be an awakened cat with a golem bound to his being. He rides around on its head and generally can do things far more easier than he can in UG@. He's still looking for his friends and mother figure.

Patrick is a knight of his land with far too big a head and always gets his rear handed to him. No change there. He doesn't lose any limbs thankfully.

Terui's a vengeful watch captain of the Great Wind City. He prowls the streets with enchanted armor and a mighty sword and is brutal in meteing out justice.

Luger's still a militiaman. Still sick. And still saw his home utterly wiped out and had to make a wild escape from monsters.

Yuki would be a knight from a far off land. Being a bodyguard for hire until she can get home, though it seems that she has a hard time talking with anyone from royalty. She makes attempts to have Non Animal flight, with big constrictions of wood and canvas.

Harv and Mina would be a traveling stage show, showing off little tricks of a brand of magic called "Science". Making smoke and mirrors for those without magical powers.

Setsuna would be a master swordsman, capable of wielding all seven of his magic, pixie-dust-enfused blades with great efficacy.

Kamille would be the son of a weaponsmith and magic scholar, and after stealing his parent's life work based on a set of armor that had put many a Zeon soldier to rout, would join a rebel army and create something even better than his parents.

Shoutaro would also be a citizen of the Great Wind City, still a detective though, and still working with Philip, except now instead of drivers Philip's Soul Dive is what creates a set of enchanted armor that can handle many situations.

Hoshi would be a princess to a far away land, but she'd get tired of being expected to adhere to the role and she rebels against her family to protect them. Here is where she picks up a sword, teaches herself how to fight and conscripts herself to serve as a servant in a war and brings honor to her family.

Katsumi Tsukikage would become Yuri Tsukikage from Heartcatch Precure with all of the emotional baggage, but is equally as badass.

Dr. K is a wizard and -- you know what, Akino already did this for me. She has an evil sister known as The Wicked Witch of the West, er I mean Tenaya annnd Venjix is her adversary.

Dita would be from a land of Amazons, and she's one of their progressive types who goes out armed with a magical bracelet that unifies her and someone else into a giant suit of armor ala White Knight.

Tsukasa would be a wandering amnesiac warrior with an enchanted suit of armor that takes on the properties of certain knights. Turns out he's a king of a faraway land that was once prosperous.

Nanoha would be a mage, but she'd also be a bakery girl obviously.

Shirley would be a witch living in a town, as a protector of the good with all the rest of the other witches.

Eri would turn into Erika with all of her emotional baggage but be awesome too. Still fashion obsessed with pretty clothing.

Flynn works for Dr. K. Nuff said bout that. He just wants to be a hero.

Yuunagi would be the grandson of some crazy wizard who got kidnapped, and a wizard in training himself. He's not your average staff/wand wielding wizard though, because he gets two super shanking magic knives that grant flight, stealth, and clone hax. Helped grandpa to forge them, too.

Laura is a bunny-themed demoness raised for war, and her MAGIC EYE is a failed attempt at making something along the lines of a Geass ability that gives her precognition. She fights with knife-tipped whips and energy blades. Otherwise the same as her UG@ counterpart.

Muginami was just some hobo loli from a barely inhabited wasteland. She joined a rebel group thanks to her onii-chan who was exiled there, but can't really fight until she somehow ends up getting her own yuri friendship powered artifact. After that, she becomes a gainaxing badass who uses dual swords.

Azrad = barely any change; maybe less Deus Machina summoning, but Aeon, at least, is pure magic to begin with.

Mira on the other hand, would be a blacksmith or alchemist. Kinda leaning more to the alchemist because I've been watching far too much FMA lately.
