Persona/tarot thread
This is usually used in a "if this was a Persona game" context, but it also works in general: which of the Major Arcana would fit your characters best, and why? You can think of fitting ones for other people too.
If you're not sure which card symbolizes which, Wikipedia has a list. They're mostly used in similar ways in Persona.

I guess that's pretty accurate.

The Star, upright, represents hope and health. Reversed, it's the loss of these. Arika is shown to be strong and healthy, even more than a normal girl, and is full of hope. However, when her world collapses on her, she loses these, to the point of being catatonic, until she is snapped out of it.
Rinon - Chariot
The Chariot represents driving forward, pushing. Rinon knows what she wants, and is willing to blow up anyone in her way. Reversed, it's recklessness, the lack of control. And blowing stuff up indiscriminately.
Philip - The Fool.
Philip is a blank slate, and his abilities allow him to become anything, fitting the Fool perfectly.
As a more Persona-focused note, Fang would be Philip's shadow, as it is the representation of the loss of control, which is Philip's biggest fear.
Luka - The Empress.
The Empress is associated with an older, nurturing female figure. Despite her abrasiveness and seeming selfishness, Luka cares for others, and is willing to play the "big sister" to those she sees as younger than her (not necessarily physically), whether they're related to her or not.
I've actually been working on this for all of my characters, if anyone is interested: Here (http://albioreiipilot.livejournal.com/4045.html).

Philip using the Gaia Library: Hermit
Philip as he's learning about the world outside: Temperance
Philip : Tower
Philip : Judgment
Philip : World
Of course... this is exactly what is proper for Fool, to take the Hero's Journey through the different Tarot, so...
Oh, and W is totally Magician. Elemental powers...
Here's (http://zweilt-eon.livejournal.com/2607.html) the description of each Arcana according to Persona 3 (at least in FES and Portable, I don't think this scene was in Vanilla). It's accurate so far as Persona goes, but Angie has problems with some of their interpretations to the actual cards. I think part of it is that different decks have slightly different meanings for some of the cards, and Persona seems to be mixing decks together to get what it wants. And including parts of the Thoth deck, which is just weird.

because he can use multiple personasbecause it's a blank template with unlimited potential that evolves over the course of it's journey. There's probably some other Arcana that'd fit him better out there, but it seems about right. XD;no subject

Self-control Being solid Patience Compassion
Composure Stability Perseverance Moderation
Kindness Gentleness Slowness Softness
Serenity Comprehension Discipline Inner strength
Yeah, pretty Samus right there.
Her secondary Arcana would be Temperance, Hermit, and Judgement.

Shoutaro fits in with Justice very nicely, though I haven't looked at some of the others, so it's hard to say.

Of course, Moon always works, later, at least, for the description of "Vulnerability to illusions. Fears arise, and he follows the dim path in his heart with trepidation"

Lowe is positive and enthusiastic, fitting for the Sun arcana.
And lastly, Alessandra is Fortune. Memento Mori, Carpe Diem, SCIENCE! It all fits.

Prometheus - Magician. The arcana of a clever, but immature trickster.
Frank - Emperor. Only fitting for someone who acts like a father to his underlings! The Tower might represent the SNS plot and his role in it, though.
Lily Rain - Sun sounds like the best fit, since she's cheerful and optimistic and personal growth is a big element of her character arc.
Tobia - most likely Star. He's determined, quickly recovers when he becomes emo, and shows a lot of initiative. Maybe Magician would also be a good fit?

Tatsu: The Fool. Tatsu is like the number 0. Empty but with limitless possibilities!

Josh: Strength. This isn't just purely physical strength, however, but also spiritual strength as well. In battle Josh has experience and the resolve to lead people, and he also doesn't back down and weaponizes his own determination as a means of making his opponents choke. He also has the resolve to disregard authority figures, like his dad, and also stick to his guns when logic dictates he shouldn't, like when he saved Glacies. Runners up for this were the Emperor and the High Priestess.
Ryo: The Sun. This had lower compatibility than what Julia and Josh had with their best matches, but ultimately Ryo was a very happy guy and friendly. Even risking his life was an acceptable sacrifice if it meant helping people out. Runners up for this were The Empress and Strength.
Kazuki: The Emperor. He's only slightly more compatible to this than Ryo and the Sun, but whatever. It still fits pretty well; Kazuki displays remarkable leadership throughout Fafner, being someone other characters can rally behind and the Mark Sein is also stupidly overpowered too. His story is about him overcoming the Festum which he does do in the end. Most notably, it can also indicate weakness in spite of success, and Kazuki himself gets his share of kicks in the balls and they do get to him. Runners up were The High Priestess and Strength.
Domon: Also Strength. Domon's a pretty determined guys, all things considered, and he's also very strong physically as well. He's kinda boneheaded at points though, and oftentimes he does't express himself the way he means to. And like Josh, he also puts love and compassion over cold logic at the end of his story. Runners up were The Emperor, which I had actually expected to take first place, and The High Priestess.
Jeremy: Also The Emperor. He's loud, forceful, charismatic, and strives to not only help rebuild the broken world of UG@ but explore history and see how things play out. His desires and goals though are not necessarily those of conquest but more of intellectual satisfaction. Runners up are Strength and The Tower.
Will not do Gregory since he's yet to debut.
